Guaranteed working method De Biertonne according to the new alcohol law 2021
The new alcohol law will come into effect on 1 July 2021, which will force De Biertonne to take various measures in the field of age verification. These measures ensure that the sale of alcoholic beverages to minors is virtually impossible. As of the new law, all sellers of alcohol must meet certain conditions. One of these conditions is that there will be a double age check; one before finalizing the order and one before the order is presented to our customer. The receipt of your package will always be verified on the basis of your ID. De Biertonne has set up a secure working method that we explain to you below.
Age check when ordering
Before you as a customer complete the order on debiertonne.nl, we will ask you to agree to our general sales conditions and a confirmation that you are 18 years or older, this must be filled in truthfully.
Age check on delivery
You will have to identify yourself upon delivery of an order. This check must always be performed by the PostNL deliverer, even if it is evident that you or the person who receives the package for you is older than 18 years.
- The Age Check 18+ is recorded in the hand scanner of the PostNL deliverer. The check is carried out on the basis of the recipient's proof of identity.
If you are not present yourself
It is of course possible that not you, but someone else receives your order. This is only possible if the other person is 18 years or older and can demonstrate this by means of a valid ID. At that time, the delivery person will record his/her details. If no one of 18 years or older is present, the package may not be handed over.
Delivery at the neighbors and permission to drop
Unfortunately, as of July 1, 2021, it is not permitted by law to deliver packages with alcohol-containing drinks to the neighbors and no more permission can be given. If the Age Check 18+ was not successful because the recipient was not at home, the delivery person will take the package back. The shipment is brought to a PostNL location nearby, where the recipient can pick it up within 1 week with a valid ID. Is nobody coming to pick up the package? Then the shipment will be returned.
Working method and packaging conditions
The above method is known to all our employees, including external carriers. In addition, we ship with special shipping boxes intended for beer, the contents of which are clear.
Additional cost of shipping
For the time being, we do not charge extra costs for the age check per order for the 'Mandatory Identification Check Alcohol Act'.
Checking the Assured working method
We are obliged to examine our assured working method once a year for applicable obligations and any shortcomings found. This will be done with the first order on July 1, 2021 and then repeated annually.
Responsible use of alcohol
As an (online) beer specialty hall, we want and are obliged to ensure that our consumers handle their drinking responsibly. We are committed to reducing the alcohol consumption of minors to a minimum. We do not sell alcohol to persons under the age of 18. De Biertonne takes its responsibility in this regard and will comply with the rules and legislation that exist for the sale of alcoholic beverages.
